I'm a New York based photographer, but I travel, too.
The thing I love most about photography is that it allows me, even briefly, to occupy an intimate space with exceptional people, and then present these moments for others to view. I've photographed world-class athletes, great musical talents, financial experts, and student prodigies. Each has fascinated me and I'm thankful for how vividly the experiences live in my memory.
I am a bit of a techniquery savant -- a geek. I like to leverage technical expertise in creating visceral experiences. I enjoy exploring and pushing creative tools, as I did with the custom five camera rig that created the image above, used for a recent Marc Ecko campaign.
Prior to photography I was most excited by films and cinematic narrative. I studied filmmaking in college, spent years editing small projects, and building -- by hand -- cinematic adapters for digital video and selling them around the world. I still enjoy the filmmaking process, and work to develop motion content for clients on occasion.
I currently live in Brooklyn with my wife (no slouch in the visual world herself), and two endearing cats.
